Great Wrap

About Great Wrap
Great Wrap is an Australian B Corp Certified business on a mission to end the human reliance on traditional plastic. We’re revolutionising the packaging industry by manufacturing the only Australian-made compostable stretch wrap, with compostable biopolymers and plant-based oils. Since our launch in 2019, we’ve experienced significant growth and now proudly manufacture compostable pallet wrap for businesses and compostable cling wrap for homes — with more innovative products coming in 2025! To date, we’ve saved more than 15 million metres of traditional stretch wrap from entering landfills.
What is the company is focused on now?
This year, we’re continuing to focus on new product development and meeting the growing demand for our material. We’ll be scaling our production capacity by introducing a new manufacturing line, expanding our team to support this growth, and exploring international markets. As a material innovation company, we’re always evolving our material meaning R&D is critical to our success. This year, we plan to launch new materials designed to help the foodservice industry minimise
plastic use and transition to a toxin-free, food-safe material.
Why did you seek an R&D Loan? What did it help you achieve?
At Great Wrap, innovation and R&D are essential to our growth and the future of compostable packaging. With our rapid expansion, we wanted to secure the necessary funds to continue prioritising material development. We approached Kashcade to unlock this refund early, enabling us to confidently invest in R&D and production without disrupting operations or pursuing equity funding. The loan helped us work on new materials and continue improving existing ones.
What was your experience like with Kashcade?
As a fast-growing business, time and efficiency are critical. Kashcade made the entire process seamless, from application to funding. Their team worked quickly and understood our needs, enabling us to access funds without lengthy delays or being a distraction for management. Kashcade’s flexible approach and fast turnaround became a great cashflow solution and will continue to be part of our financial strategy moving forward.
“As we continue our mission to end the human reliance on traditional plastics, access to capital remains an important piece of the puzzle. Kashcade’s support made that piece easy to find and readily available. We couldn’t be happier with the experience.”
